BC32 Automated Blood Culture System

The BC32 is an automated blood culture system that detects microbial growth in blood and sterile body fluids, the first step in diagnosing sepsis and bloodstream infection. It incubates up to 32 culture bottles and reads each one through its own colorimetric sensor every 10 minutes, so a positive bottle is flagged as soon as growth is detected, with most positives appearing within 24 to 72 hours. That continuous monitoring replaces daily manual checks and gets positive cultures to Gram stain and subculture sooner.

Aerobic and anaerobic culture bottles are logged by barcode scanner, and the built-in computer and touchscreen show the status of every cell at a glance. At 32 bottles and 30 kg it suits county and private hospital laboratories that want automated blood culture without the space and cost of a high-capacity system. Positive cultures go on to identification and susceptibility testing on the MA120 system.
